Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 9, 2026. This policy explains what information Handhelds United ("HU", "we") collects when you use handheldsunited.com, and what we do with it.

Who we are

This site is run by Handhelds United. For privacy questions, email contact@handheldsunited.com or use the contact form.

What we collect

  • Contact form. If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, inquiry type, the optional company or channel field, and your message. We use it only to reply to you.
  • Email. If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can respond.
  • Usage and security data. Like most sites, our hosting and site tools may record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring page. We use it to keep the site running, measure traffic, and block abuse.
  • Spam checks. Form submissions may be checked by Akismet, a spam filtering service, which receives the submitted content and technical details to judge whether it is spam.

Cookies

The site and the tools behind it may set cookies for basic function, security, and traffic measurement. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work if you do.

Videos and embedded content

Our video players are loaded only when you press play. Until then, only a thumbnail is shown. Once you play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect data under its own privacy policy. We use the privacy-enhanced YouTube embed where we can.

Advertising and sponsors

This site shows ads through WordAds, an ad program operated by Automattic, and also carries sponsor placements that HU sells directly. Direct sponsor placements are labeled "Sponsored".

WordAds and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show and measure ads, and may personalize ads where the law allows. Visitors in the EU, the UK, and other regions that require it are asked for consent through a cookie banner before personalized ads are used, and can change that choice later.

For details on how Automattic handles data, see its privacy policy and cookie policy.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site are affiliate links, including Amazon and OneXPlayer links. HU may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, Handhelds United earns from qualifying purchases.

Links to other sites

We link to services such as YouTube, Discord, Twitch, Patreon, and our merch store. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

How long we keep information

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of business correspondence. Ask us to delete your message at any time.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email contact@handheldsunited.com and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
